Lower Testosterone

When you're hoping to conceive a girl it's important to lower certain hormones. The most important hormone to lower is testosterone. It may come as a surprise, but even women have some testosterone in their bodies. Mothers and fathers-to-be should try and lower their levels before they try to conceive to maximize their chances of getting pregnant with a girl.

Suggestions to Lower Your Levels

The first place to start is with your diet! That's right, what you eat can be causing your levels to go up. You want to drastically drop your protein levels, lower your calories, and reduce fat in your diet.

Doing this is a recipe for several things -- first it lowers your overall nutrient intake. That's shown to increase your chances of a girl. Secondly, it helps you start to lose weight, which can also help you get a girl.

Having a lower protein, lower fat diet also helps reduce your testosterone levels. The protein that you do eat should be plant-based protein like beans. Stay away from red meats and animal fats. Instead, go for plant oils. Try to stick to beans because nuts are high in fat and often very salty -- two things that will increase your chances of a boy.

Another dietary change to lower testosterone is soy, which is high in phyto-estrogens. Personally I would not take soy, however, since it can have negative effects on any baby (girl or boy) conceived.

Lifestyle Changes

You can also make some changes to your lifestyle. Try to stay awake more! That's right, a good night's sleep helps to produce testosterone, so you want to try and get a shorter night in.

This is also a time to let goals and projects slide. Just take it easy and let life carry you along. Trying to conceive a girl is, of course, a project, but try and make it the only big one. Working towards goals raises testosterone.

Exercise is another way to increase your chances of getting pregnant with a girl. You don't want to do exercises with weights, however. Resistance training boosts testosterone. Your best bet is very vigorous "cardio" exercise which can cause loss of muscle mass and weight. Both of these contribute to lowering testosterone and boosting your chances of having a girl.
